About us

More about our story

Since 2003, professional Dutch language courses have been conducted in Singapore, catering to groups of 8 to 15 students, long-term residents with partners in The Netherlands, and those planning to work or study in The Netherlands. The teacher, Matthieu Quere, is an experienced native Dutch language teacher who has worked for a Dutch daily newspaper and founded AllWrite Text & Media Productions, specializing in Dutch and English copywriting. He has also written a Dutch history book about the Second World War and fifty years of freedom afterwards.

Matthieu has developed a unique Dutch sentence building diagram that helps students understand how Dutch sentences are built in correct word order, even when the grammar structure is complicated. This method helps students build proper Dutch sentences from the beginning, making them more familiar with the structure of Dutch sentence building.

The courses cover two main exams: the MVV-visa exam (Machtiging Voorlopig Verblijf) and the Integration Exam or Naturalisation. The MVV-visa exam consists of three parts: knowledge of the Dutch society (Kennis Nederlandse Samenleving), a reading proficiency test, and a speaking proficiency test. Students will practice answering personal questions in Dutch, mastering good pronunciation, learning sufficient vocabulary, and understanding basic grammar. They will also practice with a range of Dutch texts with multiple choice questions to prepare for the reading proficiency test.

If students reserve sufficient time to practice at home with targeted online teaching aids, they are likely to pass the MVV-visa exam with flying colors. For more information on applying for the MVV exam, click here.

Singaporeans often get annoyed when visiting in-laws or friends in northern Europe, as they may not know what they are talking about. This is because they may forget about their Singaporean guest. To address this issue, taking the full Beginners Course (24 lessons) or Basic Course (12 lessons) can help you understand the jokes, gossip, and local shops and restaurants without having to point your finger at things.

Learning Dutch ensures independence, and your in-laws will appreciate your efforts and encourage you. It also benefits family bonding and is worth the effort. To learn Dutch all by yourself, you can purchase the package Naar Nederland, which is a multi-media tool for learning and practicing the Dutch language in general.

In summary, learning Dutch is a valuable experience for both Singaporeans and Singaporeans, as it ensures independence, encourages communication, and fosters family bonds. Signing up for a Dutch course today can help you achieve these benefits and enjoy your stay in Holland and Belgium.
